too much on my mind.

So lately I can't seem to turn my mind off there is just so much to think about it seems. I just want this semester to be over. It was supposed to be the best semester ever, and don't get me wrong it has been good...but yet so many things have gone wrong. Mostly, I lost my best friend, as in he just never talks to me anymore....and it hurts cause I kinda thought he cared more than that...guess you gotta learn the hard way about some people. Anyway, I am making new friends which is good. They are pretty much amazing and I am thankful to have them in my life.
On to subject number two on my brain....boys. I don't even know at all in this area...I just hope that he truly knows that he means everything to me. and well that...gah im sure he knows...i don't want to get into this. i. love. him. plain and simple. and i was thinking today how i find it funny when you are talking to a guy who has hurt you in the past and all your friends are like "..i just don't want you to get hurt again..." thats all well in good but everyone seems to miss the part that the most pain you have ever been through was not talking to that person...

okay so thanks for reading my rantings...if you even did....they are really kinda just insignificant and i had to get them off my chest...

love you!

God's Love

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about why it is that I serve God. I have spent most of my life believing that I have to serve God in order for Him to love me. How messed up is that? God already loves me. He loved me before I was even born or thought of. So then...what is the point? If God already loves me, then can't I just live my life however I want? The more I thought about it I came to this simple conclusion of this...I serve God to show Him how much I love Him. He may know my heart and know already exactly how much I love Him but I need to show Him anyway. When you are dating someone or are married you do your best to show that other person that you love them, right? So why do so many people overlook God? He is first and foremost the most important being in my life. I love Him with everything in me, so I will strive to let my actions show that and prove that. :)

India! <3

Day One!

We arrived in India around midnight on Saturday morning. First, we had to go through customs. They took our temperature to see if any of us had the swine flu. After we made it through there we had to get our luggage and then meet Uncle Tim. It took more than 3 hours to drive from the airport to where we were staying in Mysore. We got to sleep for a few hours when we first got there. After we woke up we got to take our first "bucket". Which is how we showered everyday. :). The school kids put on a program for us in the morning. It was amazing to have them so willing to share their culture with us. Later in the afternoon we went to a bird sanctuary and to the gardens (which I can't remember what they were called). Then it was back to the Hope Center for the night.

Day Two!

My Birthday! This day was also Sunday! We attended church on the Hope Center grounds. The service was amazing and Brent's message to the people was really inspiring. Everyone was very welcoming to us at church. That evening we did a little bit of shopping in which I bought a Chudidar. Then we went to the Palace which was pretty the way it was all lit up. That was the conclusion of that day.

Day Three!

On Monday morning we began to prepare for the carnivals that we were going to be putting on the rest of the week. Some people had to cut out stickers for prizes and Shannon and I painted signs and a canvas for a bean bag toss and then we had to prepare to make sure we had everything we needed for the games. That afternoon we went to a village to donate a metal cabinet to the public school there. We visited the sewing institute first, which is where the cabinet was stored. Then we went to the school to visit the children. Those children were such a joy to be around. After that we were headed back to the Hope Center when we stopped to take some pictures and the door on the Scorpio broke. We had to drive back with a bungee cord around the door to keep it shut. That night we had free time to finish preparing for the various events we were to participate in that week.

Day Four!

This was the day of our first carnival. We did this for the school kids at the Mahadeshwara location. The carnival was from about 10 am until 3 pm. This was a very fun but yet exhausting day. The kids enjoyed taking a break from school and rules to be able to have fun and play these games. It was great to see them be able to enjoy themselves in such a way. That night we attended a Bible Study at a friends house. The worship at this Bible Study was so amazing. You could tell that all of the people had such a heart for God!!! <3 After that it was back to the Hope Center for the night!

Day Five!

The first thing that we did this day was set up for a tea that we were throwing for the women in the sewing institute. At this tea they played a game and then Shannon and I sang a song for them that we had learned in Kannada (which is one of their local languages). It was amazing to be able to do something for them so that they could take a little break from their usual grind! It was a fun tea! Later in the afternoon we went to a nearby village to do a carnival for the Sunday School kids at one of the churches. This was the smallest carnival we had. Half-way through the carnival it started pouring down rain. We had to escort all the kids inside and entertain them for a while until the rain let up. Finally we were able to start driving back although it was really hard to see out the window for a while. That night we went to an outdoor snack-type restaurant and tried some new food. It was so delicious. Then we got gelato and went back and called it a night.

Day Six!

Thursday morning! We first went to a women's prison and put on a carnival for the women that were in there. Some of which were wrongfully accused and thrown in there. The women enjoyed the carnival and were very open when it came to wanting prayer and reading materials. It was great to see that some of them still had a positve outlook even though they were in such a negative place. That afternoon we went to a sanitorium (sp?) to hand out fruit to the HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis patients. This was one of the hardest things we had to do on the trip. It was so hard to see all of these people separate from the people they loved and suffering. That night we attended a women's Bible Study! The story that Geraldine shared with the women was very inspiring. Afterward we went to Esther's house and had fried chicken and mashed potatoes. It was kind of weird eating American food. But it was delicious, Auntie Karla is an amazing cook!

Day Seven!

Friday morning we attended an intercessory prayer session. There was a little bit of worship and then a lot of prayer. That afternoon we got to go to a school and I got to tell a story to the kids there about how much God loves them and how they are beautiful to Him. Then we had them do a craft so they can share the story with their friends and family. That night we went bowling and then mini-golfing. The mini-golf course was the most difficult course I have ever played. Then we went to Olive Garden! Its completely different than the Olive Garden that we have here. It was a good last night spent with the new family in India!

Day Eight!

Our last day! :( In the morning we attended another school program. This one was for India's Independence day! They presented us with little roses and preformed for us again! That afternoon we did our very last carnival for another group of village kids. And then they had us come into the church and they put on a mini performance for us. Some of the girls did a dance. Then we went to the pastor's house and had our last Indian meal! When we got back we had to unpack the carnival stuff and then pack up our luggage and then head back to the airport!

I met some amazing people and had some wonderful experiences on this trip. I miss and love everyone. Especially Uncle Tim, Auntie Karla, Nano, Autumn, Elia, and Brenny! You guys are an amazing family and I will pray for you and your ministry every single day! :)

First post...

I don't really have anything to say at this point in time. I leave for India in 17 days! I am so excited to see what God is going to do there. It's going to be amazing!
